When it comes to hybrids it’s hard to win over a crowd. Taking something which is already largely popular and infusing it with design elements from another model could lead to a recipe for disaster. Take for example many of the Jordan Brand hybrid’s which have been ridiculed over and over again.
While there luck in the hybrid department has been slim to none lately, the same can’t be said for Nike. Nike’s been delivering all sorts of hybrids and for the most part they’ve been catching on. One of our personal favorites from their running division is the Air Max Wright, a model which fuses together the iconic Air Max 90 and the newer Air Max LTD to create a stylish and incredibly comfortable sneaker.
The particular version of the Air Max Wright shown here is a new release for the women. Smooth white leather wraps the toe, mudguard and part of the mid-section, while white synthetic mesh constructs the toe-box and tongue. A shade of grey adheres itself to the Nike Swoosh before turning into a chain-link, mesh-like pattern on a multi-colored heel featuring a gradient of blue, purple and orange. Additionally, there’s accents of light blue on the tongue trim, along the base of the upper and on the outsole, with further use of purple on the tongue tag, heel branding and within the visible Air Max unit.
The sneakers are available now at select Nike retailers, including Finish Line for a retail price of $92.
