If you checked out the Gumball 3000 x Puma SL Street we just showed you, you may have noticed how we mentioned UNDFTD also teamed up with Puma for a limited edition Gumball 3000 shoe. In case you were wondering what it looked like, here you have it.
James Bond, co-founder of UNDFTD will be riding along with the Puma team during this years Gumball so it was only fitting the brands teamed up together on a product release. Using the Puma Comp Star as a template, James covered the entire upper of the shoes in dark green suede. From there a touch of black was formed to the Puma formstripe and the inner lining, with white completing the heavily-textured mid-sole. Besides for a rubber hangtag with the rally’s name, there seems to be nothing on the actual shoes tying them into the Gumball 3000.
According to reports by Complex a total of 200 pairs of the UNDFTD x Gumball 3000 x Puma Comp Star have been produced, with majority of them going to the drivers and the rest going on sale through UNDFTD on May 15th, 2010. If i’m not mistaken there’s a max of 120 cars (teams) in the Gumball, so if every driver got 1 and no co-pilots got any, that would leave 80 for the general public. Whatever the number may be if you plan on getting one of the few pairs being made available to the public you best get down to UNDFTD early on May 15th.
