In just 2 days billionaire’s, millionaire’s, and celebrities who are destined to be broke in the years to come, will start their engines and prepare for the ride of their life as they embark on the 12th Annual Gumball 3000 Rally. This years event kicks off on May 1st, 2010, and has contestants dueling it out in the worlds most expensive cars across London, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Montreal and Toronto, before finally rounding off in New York seven days later.
Celebrating their third year as a Lifestyle Sponsor of the Gumball 3000, Puma has released a limited Gumball 3000 edition of the SL Street shoe. The ideal product for the Gumball enthusiast, the Puma Gumball 3000 SL Street is inspired by one of the cars from last years rally, a gold Bugatti Veyron (pictured after the jump). Just like the car, gold leather constructs the entire base of the shoes, with subtle white accents worked into the creases of the Puma formstripe and outlining the Puma cat logo on the inner side of the upper. Blending in on the heel and looking as if it’s dying for a hint of black to make it more noticeable is the Gumball 3000 logo in white. Black finishes off the inner lining and matches up with the black roof used on the Veyron. One of the nicest details to the shoes is the insoles which feature unique graphics depicting this years key checkpoints: London – Amsterdam – Copenhagen – Stockholm – Boston – Quebec City – Toronto – NY.
The Gumball 3000 x PUMA SL Street is set for a release on the same day the Gumball 3000 starts, May 1st, with a availability through select Puma retailers, Journeys and Puma.com.
