Since we’ve been giving you previews of the Super Red Gel Lyte III by Ronnie Fieg, and took at look at Gel Lyte III “Alvin Purple” by Sneaker Freaker yesterday, and watered your mouths with images of sneakers you can’t get your hands of yet, why don’t we take at a readily available release in the Gel Lyte department.
Taking us back in time to when the Gel Lyte III originally released in 1991, Asics brings out this striking colorway which is one of the originals from 19 years ago. White nubuck and mesh make up for majority of the upper, with contrasting green nubuck wrapping around the toe and heel. White Leather constructs the Asics arches with a nice green outline to help them pop against the white base. Accents of yellow come into play on the tongue, around the ankle and on the Gel Lyte III embroidery on the lateral side of the heel. A combo of white, black, grey and green finishes off the sole unit with an out of place, but yet so fitting hit of neon green on a small piece of the outsole.
Between the comfort the Gel Lyte III’s provide and the stylish colorways they’ve been provided in, it’s no wonder they’ve maintained and continue to build a cult following in their 19yr history. We can only wait to see what could possibly be in store for 2011, the 20th Anniversary. If you’re interested in this latest Gel Lyte release you can get them through Sneakersnstuff now.
