A Bathing Apehas created quite a name for themselves in the footwear department by mimicking the silhouettes of some of the industry’s most fashionable and oldest sneakers. While this is something consumers usually don’t agree with, specially here in the States where we’re all about originality, Nigo and his Bathing Ape empire have made it work time after and continue to keep fans hungry for more.
One of A Bathing Ape’s designs which does nothing to distinguish itself for it’s inspired counterpart is the Ape Sta, a takeoff of the old-school Chuck Taylor All-Star. From the upper, to the toe, to the sole unit, the Ape Sta is an exact mockup of the Chucks in every way, shape and form. The only difference of course is the branding with a removable Bathing Ape patch on the side of the upper, a Ape Sta tag stitched to the tongue and raised rubber BAPE star logos along the toe of the sole.
For the Spring 2010 Season A Bathing Ape has given us four new tonal colorways of the Ape Sta – Teal, Red, Blue, Pink – with each of the four consisting of canvas uppers capped off by black pinstripes on the sole. All four of the new releases are available now at BAPE stores worldwide.
