It was big news last year when Eric Koston joined the Nike SB Team. From skateboarding forums to sneaker blogs, everybody had an interest in the deal. Skaters were pleased to see Koston ink a deal to have him skating with the likes of P-Rod and sneakerheads were hyped to see what Koston and Nike SB would deliever in the sneaker department.
After a long wait we’re finally getting a glimpse at what the duo worked up. Honoring Koston’s homeland of Thailand, Nike SB will be releasing a pair of Dunk Low’s and Dunk High’s which have both been personally stylized by Koston. The SB Dunk Low features a premium, high-quality blue suede upper with a red inner lining, a gold leather Nike Swoosh outlined in red and a gum outsole below a white mid-sole. An obvious color scheme inspired by the flag of Thailand. For the SB Dunk High the heritage of Thailand was looked upon again, this time looking to the mosques for inspiration. Gold suede constructs the frontal, lace panels, and heel panel, while a shiny gold leather finishes of the toe, mid-panel and ankle panel with a grid design worked into the ankle. Wrapping things up is a silver Swoosh outlined in pink and a gum outsole sitting beneath a standard white mid-sole.
I’m not quite sure when exactly the SB Dunk Low’s are suppose to release but according to reports by High Snobiety the SB Dunk High “Thailand” is scheduled to hit select Nike SB distributors on April 27th, 2010.
