Legendary hip hop group Wu-Tang are no strangers to the fashion and sneaker industry. The group has once had their own apparel line, has and still continues to collaborate with various streetwear companies, and has worked their iconic “W” logo and their signature Black and Yellow Killa Bees color scheme into a lineup of different sneakers from companies such as Nike, Fila, Dekline, and ALIFE. Some of the Wu members have even worked closely with the heads at adidas Originals as part of the ongoing adidas x Def Jam Collection.
Adding another collabo under their belts, in terms of fashion not music, Wu-Tang hooked up with Bagua for what may be the perfect collaboration. Bague produces a nice lightweight slipper-like silhouette which is based on the centuries old slippers worn by Kung-Fu and Tai-Chi Masters. If you’re a Wu-Tang fan there’s no doubt you’re familiar with the groups obsession for the art of Kung-Fu, so to see a collaboration like this makes perfect sense and fits together perfectly. To bring forth the Killa Bees theme Bagua and the Wu-Tang members opted to drape the shoes in a combination of black leather and black mesh, with yellow contrast stitching, yellow insoles and a yellow sole. It wouldn’t be a Wu collabo without somehow incorporating the well recognized logo, so subtly placed along an elastic band is the “W” in it’s signature shade of yellow.
The Wu-Tang x Bagua shoes will be releasing worldwide in a limited run of 350 pairs. RZOstore and Pigalle, Paris will see a release on April 14th while a US launch will take place later this month sometime. Via: SneakerFreaker
