Is Nike SB playing with the hearts of Marvel fanatics and sneakerheads, again? Are will they follow through this year?
Back in 2009 a pair of Iron Man inspired SB Dunk Lows surfaced online, and regardless of the positive feedback they received at the time the sneakers never released and remained as a pair of samples. Fast-forward a year and now we have this image of an Iron Man SB Dunk High floating around, thanks to N-SB.
The high top version, which hasn’t been confirmed for an official release at this time, features an entirely different color scheme from the samples previewed in ’09, one of which I personally feel resembles Iron Man much better. Judging from the first look, it appears the sneakers consist of a suede upper in light red and dark red, with a black patent leather Nike Swoosh outlined in yellow. The inner lining, tongue tag branding and outsole all continue the use of yellow while black claims a spot, again, on the midsole.
As mentioned it’s unclear at this time whether or not the sneakers will release, but we should be finding out soon if Nike SB plans to have the release to fall together with Iron Man 2, which is set to hit theaters in May. Stay tuned for further updates.
