We knew it was only a matter of time before this happened, it was just a matter of which model would be next to go under the cutting knife. After winterizing the Air Jordan Spiz’ike, which we mentioned yesterday is due to return later this year, Jordan Brand gave the 6 Ring’s a makeover and winterized them for those treacherous Winter days when you refuse to leave the house in anything other then a pair of J’s.
Thanks to TheAFoot, who provided some Jordan Brand catalog scans on NikeTalk, we have a preview of two upcoming Winterized 6 Rings. The scan’s don’t provide us much of a detailed look, but it atleast informs us that the Spiz’ike’s won’t be the last of the Jordan’s to get a boot-like makeover, and we’re sure the 6 Rings won’t be the last either. The upper’s on the three styles shown feature a combination of full grain leather, suedes and engineered mesh offering performance protection. Boot hardware has been added for lockdown and style to go along with the winterized look. The full length phylon Air Jordan 13 inspired midsole includes Zoom Air in the heel and in the forefoot and the iconic elephant print becomes a functional 8MM lug traction pattern on the outsole.
No official release date for the Jordan 6 Rings Winterized is available at this time, but they are expected to be part of Jordan Brand’s Holiday 2010 Collection so watch for them to release between October-December. We’ll be sure to provide you with further details when they become available.
