It’s common for trends to start, die, and rise again years later. In the fashion world the styles of yesterday have rapidly been making a comeback and becoming trends all of their own again, as if they never existed before. Acid wash denim is one of the many trends which came, went and recently returned. The style which was big in the 80’s on denim jackets and pants is starting to become a popular fad in the sneaker world. Supra Footwear’s been using acid wash denim and suede on a few of their packs over the years, many of which have been generated a lot of buzz, and now Reebok gives us their own spin on a few Acid Wash Freestyle Hi’s for the women.
Seen here are two colorways of the WMNS Reebok Freestyle Hi “Acid Wash”, out of three which we believe are expected to release as part of Reebok’s Spring 2010 Collection. In the previews we saw back in 2009 there was a black, red and purple version, and now thanks to Dunk.cnwe have some detailed photos of both the red and purple models. The uppers use a 50/50 split of acid wash denim and acid wash suede with a zipper worked into the ankle area and silver print used for the Reebok branding.
We aren’t quite sure on an exact release date at this time but if you’re interested you can get a pair early through Dunk.cn where there’s a few womens sizes available. For a closer look at each one click here.
