While National Football Teams from around the world prepare for the 2010 FIFA World Cup with high hopes to enter the record books and bring home the Cup, Africa gets ready to set history all of it’s own.
For the first time in it’s 80 years of history (1930 was the first World Cup) the FIFA World Cup will descend upon the African continent to host the 19th World Cup competition in South Africa. To commemorate this milestone and what it means to the nation, adidas Originals put together the “Laduma Pack” consisting of two Gazelle 2’s. One features a black suede upper with a colorful shoelace design baring the colors of the South Africa flag worked into the inner lining, while the other sports the same design throughout a white leather upper. Alongside the adidas three stripe logos is the word “LADUMA” which translates to “Goal” in Zulu, and incorporated onto the tongue of each shoe is a graphic of a Zulu tribe member. The world LADUMA appears once again on the insoles.
Whether you’re an African native, a FIFA World Cup fan, or just a sneakerhead who has a thing for old school trainers like the Gazelle 2, you can pick up the adidas Originals “Laduma Pack” now through Footasylum and a handful of other adidas Originals distributors.
