Going strong since February 2009 is the adidas Originals by Originals Collection, an ongoing project which teams Jeremy Scott, Alyasha from Fiberops and Kazuki from Fragment Design with adidas to produce some of the most exclusive and original products. Each of the three artist’s have no doubt put together some very unique items but none quite as popular as what Jeremy has released alongside adidas.
For his latest venture with the adidas Originals by Originals collection Jeremy Scott worked up a pair of high tops which feature a character we just saw a reference to on a pack of Vans SK-8 Hi’s. Clearly visible and stitched to the tongue of the shoes is a large Mickey Mouse head who’s ears extended higher then the actual tongue to give off the appearance that they use an enlarged tongue like we’ve seen on some of Jeremy’s other releases. As everybody should know Mickey’s signature outfit is done up in a color combo of Red and Yellow, therefore Jeremy carried over the color scheme and incorporated it onto the JS Mickey to go along with the Mickey head. The colorup sort of reminds me of the JS Africa from 2009, besides for the fact there’s no Blue in this one and the shade of Red is just a tad darker. There’s also some finer details which aren’t visible from afar such as Jeremy Scott’s name printed on the upper lace eyelets.
I’m not quite sure when the Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals “JS Mickey” sneakers will be available in the US, but they are available now at Kasina which is located in Korea.
