adidas is preparing to relaunch the Handball 5 Plug, a sneaker originally introduced in 1984 which was marketed towards players of the Handball Championship. At the time the adidas Handball 5 Plug was the most popular sneaker of it’s find, alongside the Spezial which adidas released a few years earlier in 1979.
What makes the Handball 5 Plug extremely unique is the fact it allows a wearer to modify the cushioning of the sneakers based on their specific needs at the time. This happens thanks to a 5 Plug system worked into the heel of the sneakers which can be adjusted on the fly to tweak the tension.
This specific style features a gum sole with a fresh mesh and leather upper in a classic court white and green colorway. A very clean take on this classic 80’s handball shoe. No official release date has been listed at this time but Hanon has been nice enough to provide us with these images and details.
