Last night the Los Angeles Lakers took to the court to tip off against the Orlando Magic in what turned out to be a closely played game right up to the final buzzer, with the Lakers looking like they were about to lose it there towards the end of the 3rd quarter. They finally got things back together in the 4th quarter and pulled through with a 98 to 92 victory over the Magic.

During the game Kobe Bryant and a few other Lakers sported a very special mock-up of the Zoom Kobe 5 to honor Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., one the nations most famous black leaders. The shoes are seen with a grey base and accents of black, green and red which pay tribute to the Pan-African flag.

At this time it’s unclear on whether or not these will ever be released, but lets just say it’s not expected. If we hear anything else we will be sure to let you know, otherwise click here to check out some shots of the sneakers provide by Getty Images.
