#5 Nike Air Yeezy – When Kanye took the stage at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards bloggers all over the world took to their laptops and desktops in search for any sort of info they could find on the sneakers Kanye was wearing that very night. However, there was none. Kanye has always been know to bring products to the limelight which are completely new to the market, but after some research your usually able to find out exactly what it is. This wasn’t the case with the Yeezy’s. We searched and searched and it just wasn’t there. We were stumped for quite awhile, then all of a sudden, as always, more pictures of the sneakers surfaced, with little info here and there to finally put together a whole story. After some time and numerous rumors the world was finally let on to the fact the sneakers were a totally new design produced in a collaboration with Nike and Kanye. Seeing as how Kanye has one of the biggest fan bases in the music industry, you could only imagine how much people were dying to get their hands on these sneakers, which ended up being extremely limited. Not only was the Air Yeezy one of the Top 10 Most Popular Articles of 2009 but it was also a release which made people the most shady with shops auctioning off their shipment to consumers and seriously rapping consumers with outrageous prices way above retail. Some shops out there did things by the book, and to those of you who did so, we applaud you.
