#9 Nike SB Dunk vs Nike Dunk – Ninja Turtle Customs – There were a lot of popular custom sneakers featured on Sneaker Obsession in 2009, but none as popular at these two Ninja Turtle inspired Dunks designed by Thirst. Having been a big Ninja Turtle fan as a kid i was defiantly feeling what Thirst did with the sneakers. Can’t say i would wear them, but as a piece just to add to a collection they would defiantly be nice to show off to some friends every now and again. Thirst used a pair of SB Dunks with a Donatello inspired theme with a Leonardo theme on a pair of Nike Dunks. Heavy detailing is incorporated into each sneaker to tie them into each turtle, and theres plenty of custom features such as Nike Swoosh’s which wear to tie into a knot at the back to resemble the masks of the Turtles and custom tongue tags done up in the same style as the official Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles text logo. All around both these sneakers display some incredible artwork and ideas from top to bottom, and that is why it’s made it within the Top 10 Articles of 2009.
