When it comes to running sneakers Asics is defiantly one of the top competitors in the game, if not the top competitor. The Asics Gel Lyte III and the Asics GT II are two of the most popular running/jogging sneakers on the market, and it’s no surprise really given the comfort and support of both shoes, and the history Asics has developing shoes for runners.
A popular event which takes place each and every year and attracts runners from all over the world is the Honolulu Marathon, a race which began in 1973 in Honolulu, Hawaii, and is currently the world’s sixth largest marathon. In honor of this event, which takes place on the second Sunday of December (December 13th this year) Asics has released two new GT II colorways inspired by the Honolulu Marathon and it’s surroundings. Each of the two sneakers feature tropical inspired colorways with one version in turquoise/gold/pink and the other in black/aqua/pink. Although we don’t have a photo of them we are told the insoles consists of numerous graphics and designs inspired by Hawaii and the Honolulu Marathon. With color schemes like this you would expect these two kicks to be Summer releases, but while a lot of us are going through gold spells this time of month the folks in Hawaii are living the warm tropical life, all year round.
