On August 28th the sneaker community lost one of it’s most well known avid sneaker collectors, and music industry lost one of it’s most beloved DJ’s when Adam Goldstein, known to the world as DJ AM, was found dead in his New York City apartment. In many ways DJ AM was no different then you and I when it came to a passion for sneakers and just looking fresh.
Shortly before his death DJ AM hinted on his Twitter page about an upcoming Nike Dunk release which he had the honor of designing. It was originally stated that the Dunks would be part of the whole Rivalry Series but now we suspect with the passing of DJ AM the sneakers the sneakers are being marketed simply as a DJ AM model with no ties to the Rivalry Series.
The Dunks which DJ AM designed feature of a color combo of red and black on the upper with black patent leather on the heel, lace panels and frontal and red leather around the ankle, on the mid-panels and on the toe-box. The tongue is straight black leather with DJ AM’s signature logo on the tongue tag. The Nike Swoosh has 3M applied to it as does the material beneath the perforated detailing on the heel panel. The perforated detailing on the heel is done to resemble the strobe lights on the Technics turntable, a device which DJ AM picked up one day and forever changed the DJ game with.
No exact release date for the DJ AM x Nike Dunk High Premium has been announced at this time but we will be sure to keep you updated on any upcoming details.
