First off, congratulations to the New York Yankees for their 7-3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. This marks the 27th World Series Championship for the NY Yankees, with this one of course being the first to be won in the Home That George Built. Way to bring it home fellas, i’ll see you at the parade!!
Alright, down to business here, sneakers. If you recall we showed you the Nike Air Trainer 1 ‘New York Yankees’ which was reported to not be releasing to the public at the time. Well, things have apparently changed. Nike will indeed be releasing the sneakers, with a minor difference. The shoes sports your usually Yankees color scheme of navy and white with a big “NEW” and “YORK” on the heel, and a script “NYC” hit on the one tongue tag and a home plate design on the other. The difference here is the addition of the “NYC” hit and home plate design on the tongue tags and the insoles which are now red with the retired numbers of New York Yankees split between a pair of red insoles. The other pair we saw included “NEW” and “YORK” across the tongue tag had grey insoles with the retired numbers on one insole and a New York Yankees logo on the other.
The sneakers will be arriving at Footlocker within the next two weeks so make sure you hit up your local shop to check on availability within the coming days. Go everyday if you have to, cause they will defiantly be a hot seller, specially if your from NY.
