Reebok kicks it with Kool Aid
January 25th, 2008

News about the Kool Aid pack from Reebok is spreading fast. The net is buzzing with all kinds of comments, some which are already labeling these sneakers as “a must have 2008″ and some which put these sneakers down in ways such as “Its Reebok…enough said”. Regardless of what you may have heard or what you may think the Kool Aid Reebok Pack will leave its mark in the sneaker industry in 2008. It will be one of those love hate relationships. Here at Sneaker Obsession we were contacted directly by Laura on behalf of Reebok with some updated information on the sneakers, where they will be sold and how they were inspired by more then just the drink ‘Kool Aid’. Continue reading for more information and many pictures.
The first three ‘flavors’ in the Reebok pack are officially launching on Feb. 1st. Grape, Strawberry and Cherry will be available in stores across the U.S. starting Feb. 1st along with the coordinating accessories. The accessories include items such as hoodies, hats and t-shirts.

A lot of people believe the classic drink ‘Kool Aid’ is the inspriation behind these. Granted they have a ‘Kool Aid’ theme to them there is more behind them then just that. The collection was inspired by NFL star Laurence Maroney, of the Super Bowl-contending New England Patriots. Laurence has carried the nickname “Kool-Aid” since childhood.

The sweet-smelling collection comes in kids and men sizes ranging from $50-$75 for the sneakers and $28-$65 for the accessories. The Kool-Aid collection will be available nationwide at the following retailers: Moe’s Sneaker Spot Inc, Lezmir, Peko Sports Inc, Karmaloop, Sportie LA, City Blue, Shiekh’s, Shoe Mania, and Dr. Jay’s.
The final installment of the collection drops in April with three additional flavors: Lemonade, Lemon-Lime and Orange. Watch for those in the future.
