Nike KD2 ‘Velvet Hoop’

As he was on his way to a workout session earlier today Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder posted this picture on his Twitter page giving the world a look at the Nike KD2 ‘Velvet Hoop’, a colorup of the KD2 named after the character Kevin Durant plays in the Nike Hyperize ‘Dont Criticize (Hyperize)’ commercial.

The Velvet Hoop will be one of the many colorways of the upcoming Nike KD2, the new signature sneakers of Kevin Durant. The sneakers carry a red patent leather upper  with what looks to be a deep purple (or black) Nike Swoosh with a green outline. Accenting the upper is a bright sole unit made up of a yellow midsole and a green outsole. with a yellow midsole and a green outsole. The inner lining of the sneakers include a 1980s inspired multi-colored design which remindes us of something we would see on Will Smith during his Fresh Prince of Bel-Air days.

At this time no official release date has been posted for the Velvet Hoop KD2 or any other colorway of the Nike KD2. Stay tuned for further updates.
