Would You Rock Em? has been on delay for the past two weeks due to some family issues ive had to attend to recently which has caused me to have less time to bang out some designs. Things are still a little hectic but i managed to knock out ten colorways to put together a segment for Would You Rock Em? Week 5.
This week i have put together the Candy Pack which includes various colorways inspired by some of todays popular candy bars and other candy like snacks. The designs include styles for Reeses, Kit-Kat, 3 Musketeers, Nerds and more. Follow the jump to check out the colorways and to vote for the designs you would rock in our poll.
First up is the Reeses Peanut Butter Cups Nike Dunk. Peanut Butter Cups are by far my most favorite candy, atleast that is when they are fresh and not hard. With that being said it was only right i put together a color scheme inspired by my beloved candy. I went with just the orange and yellow from the package and opted not to use a brown as a third color.
Along with Reeses Peatnut Butter Cups i also enjoy a good ol’ Snickers. Thats where the inspiration came from for the Snickers Nike Dunk High. I kept it pretty simple with these with an all brown upper accented with a blue Nike Swoosh and a hint of red on the tongue tag.
Just like the Snickers Nike Dunks i kept it simple with this other pair of Dunk Highs inspired by Junior Mints. Junior Mints are my #1 movie theater snacks, along with Snow Caps. Cant enjoy a good movie unless i have some junior mints and snow caps, and an ICEE.
Since you got a model for Snickers it only makes sense to me to make a Milky Way Nike Dunk. Now before we go any further let me just mention this, the sole unit is suppose to be a gum sole. I just couldnt get the coloring all that right in Photoshop, so use your imagine here. The gum sole to me represents the creamy center. Even if the sole unit werent a gum sole i think it would still look good in the brown its shown in now.
When i was younger i use to really like Nerds so i decided to put together a Nerds Nike Dunk. I pretty much went with a 3/4th design here with the front half done in purple and the back half in pink. The Nike Swoosh is blue which is taken from the Nerds logo and the mid-sole includes a pink speckle design which may be just a little bit to much for the sneakers. The speckles are suppose to represent Nerds but im not to sure if it really worked out that way.
These didnt exactly come out how i wanted them to so use your imagination here. The idea was to give the upper a chrome like finish, like the Dinosaur Jr. Dunks. I can chrome a car in Photoshop but for some reason i just couldnt get the reflections right on the Dunks, therefore i tried to get a color closet to a shade of silver. From there i just threw in some red accents with a blue pair of laces. Wish i could get that chrome/silverish finish but it is what it is.
I dont particually like a Mr. Goodbar but my girlfriend does and she suggested i create a colorway inspired by their candy wrapper. These i guess could either have an all yellow premium leather upper or a yellow patent leather upper. I didnt wanna add to to much red cause then you get that McDonalds look going so i just added a red Nike Swoosh, a red pair of laces and red Nike branding on the heel tab. I wanted to throw a little brown in there but i didnt want them to look like the Oh Henry Nike Dunks which are coming up next.
The Oh Henry Nike Dunks. I cant say im 100% on this design myself but i wanted to use all three colorways on the Oh Henry wrapper, yellow, red and brown. In my opinion the brown just isnt working for me, but some of you may think differently so be sure to vote for them in the poll if your diggin them.
Follow the Oh Henry Nike Dunk Low comes the Kit-Kat Nike Dunk Low. I more or else designed these after the King Size Kit-Kat which includes a little more yellow but you get the idea. I didnt wanna add to much brown into the design since the package is mostly a redish color and yellow so i just gave the sneakers a brown inner lining to represent the chocolate inside the wrapper.
Whats a Candy Pack without a sneaker inspired by the epic Hershey’s candy bar? The collection wouldnt complete without one, so here we have the Hersheys Nike Dunk High with an all brown upper, a silver Nike Swoosh, silver laces, a silver tongue tag and a silver midsole. The outsole is also brown, just happens to look a tad bit darker in the design.
There are a lot more candys out there but for now i have just put together these ten designs. Maybe in one of the coming weeks of Would You Rock Em? ill cover a few more different candy bars and snacks. but i think too much brown was used on the snickers and too little on the reese’s…
@Lidu Al – Fair enough…I am actually really surprised the Nerds are in first…I had thought those would of been close to last…Defiantly some interesting results so far..

I believed the Hersheys would of been first, or the Kit-Kat Dunks…The Hersheys Dunks are working their way towards the lead though, just a few votes behind…

I am more obsess with OHEHNRY, KIT KAT & Mr. GOODBAR’s design..Very perfect in color combination. i think it is more nice to combine color on the check and the shoe lace.
