The chart topping duo Milli Vanilli had it all back in the 80′s. Fame, women, money, not to mention a Grammy award for “Best New Artist”. Rob Pilatus and Fabrice Morvan were living the high-life that everyone dreamed of but very few lived. That is, until, it was revealed by their producer, Frank Farian, that Pilatus and Morvan were professional lip-synchers and hadn’t sung a single lick on their debut album, “Girl You Know It’s True”, which sold more than 11-million copies. Countless lawsuits followed in the aftermath and Milli Vanilli’s fame and fortune was quickly stripped.
Haven risen to the top before falling off the charts, Nike SB is honoring Milli Vanilli in their “Fallen Heroes” pack, which as we seen previously also includes the Nike SB Dunk High “Pee Wee Herman”. Using a SB Dunk Low, Nike SB brought the Milli Vanilli theme together with a mixed material upper that includes suede, smooth leather and patent leather in a deep red and black color combo thats meant to resemble the suits the artist wore in the “Girl You Know It’s True” music video. Additional details include a music note on the tongue tag and rugged black laces, which act as a reference point to Milli Vanilli’s dreadlocks.
