Who remembers Pee Wee Herman from back in the day? Did you ever think at the time there would some day be a sneaker commemorating him? Neither did we. Thanks to Nike SB, we have one today. Nike’s skateboarding division turns the Nike Dunks into a Pee Wee Herman tribute. The sneakers feature a tonal grey to match Pee Wee’s suit, a white tongue to resemble his white undershirt and a touch of red on the tongue tag to represent his signature bow tie. The insoles feature movie theater seats with Pee Wee sitting in one of the chairs, a reference to his run in with the law back in ’91 when he, Paul Rubens, was arrested for masturbating in a movie theater. If you look closely it looks as if he may even have his hand down his pants. That’s harsh, but funny as hell. The Nike SB Dunk High “Pee Wee Herman” is part of the “Fallen Heroes” series which is dedicated to those who were once something and are now nothing. A Vanilla Ice-themed Nike Blazer will also be released in the series.
