Optimistic Clothing First Tee “Niketown” Dropping
I orginally met ISS and Sneakerplay member Sneekerhead23 when he was advertising for his “Curious George” Tee during the Karmaloop t-shirt contest (don’t forget to enter Lilrip133 as your rep code for 20% off by the way). The shirt was funny and definately creative, but by mass appeal standards, apparently wasn’t quite in the classic category (some uber-hyped shirt won the contest). Since the tee didn’t win (winning would have sent the tee straight into production), the business-minded sneakerhead decided to turn to a little bit different idea. While the “Curious George” tee is still planned for the future release with some minor tweaks, Optimistic came up with something that any sneakerhead who ever has camped out can identify with; as a matter of fact some of us may have even witnessed this scene personally. I present to you the “Niketown” Tee.
Get the whole story after the jump:
What is depicted on the shirt is the infamous scene outside of New York’s Niketown for the pigeon’s release. While not everybody had to go through the living hell/ heaven that was the Pigeon release, many of us have been in similar situations at other big releases. Even the Cool Grey 3 release in Tampa was filled with cursing policemen, pushing us into lines with tazers and cuffs ready to take any of the “dangerous” sneakerheads away at any time. It’s amazing, the justice system can even try to take away one of the largest consumer markets in America for the sake of so-called “Public Safety”.
Tee is a modest $18 shipped and can be purchased from sneekerhead23 on ISS or sneakerplay. The easiest mode of contact is on AIM at The5c00tinator or by email at drenman77@gmail.com. Official Agreements (website protected purchases basically) can only be made through orders on ISS, but having done prior business with him, I can tell you that it would also be completely safe to business outside of ISS if you don’t have an account. By adding yourself to the waiting list, you guarantee yourself to receive a shirt in your size. Currently, only 60 pieces are being produced, and the waiting list already has 20+ people on it, so get yours now before they’re all gone and your chance to make a serious statement at your next camp-out goes by the wayside. Look for more tees from Optimistic clothing soon.
The pic is of a sample that had a typo in it (OptOmistic instead of OptImistic)
