Sub Pop Records, an independent record label based out of Seattle, Washington, has played a pivotal role in making Grunge music a worldwide phenomenon. The record label has helped groups like Nirvana, Dinosaur Jr., Mudhoney, Sonic Youth, Soundgarden and many more go from pretty much the unknown to international celebrities. In honor of all the work Sub Pop Records has done for grunge music and their artists Nike SB reached out to the group to collaborate on a Nike SB Blazer Elite.
The Sub Pop Records x Nike SB Blazer Elite carries a design which has been inspired by the first Sub Pop Singles Club 7? which featured “Gebel Barkal” b/w “(Version)”. The SB Blazer Elite sports a black, yellow and grey colored upper which features black zig zags embroidered on the side of the upper along with a black star near the ankle. The black lace panels have nice contrast yellow stitching and the Sub Pop logo is included on the tongue and on the heel tab. SP782 is printed in black down the heel spine and finishing up the sneakers is a pair of insoles with a repeating pattern.
The Sub Pop Records x Nike SB Blazer Elite will be a quickstrike release which will only be available at select Nike SB retailers next month in July.
