Coming this July Converse will bring back the Jack Purcell Racearound. Unlike the lineup of low to Jack Purcell Racearound’s released in 2007 and 2008 the new releases will feature a high cut design.
The Jack Purcell Racearound is a style which was originally designed by Converse in the early 1970s. The design inspiration for the silhouette was taken from the cars of the era and was developed to be a racing/driving sneaker. The Racearound models being released in July include tumbled leather uppers with suede and patent leather detailing. The sneakers will be available in oxford and high-top versions and will come in black/grey/red, black/red and white/black/red. Unfortunately at this time all we have is a shot of one of the colorups.
Retail will range between $95 – $100 and the sneakers will be available specialty retailers and online at the Converse website in July 2009.
