This weekend is the MTV Movie Awards weekend with the awards taking place tomorrow on May 31st, 2009 and exclusives parties going down throughout the entire weekend. One celebrity which we already know is sure to be rocking some very exclusive sneakers will be Laz Alonso who has started in movies such as the new Fast & Furious, Stomp the Yard, Jarhead, as well as made numerous TV appearances on shows such as Bones, CSI and The Unit.

Laz Alonso reached out to Van Monroe to have him design an exclusive pair of custom sneakers based after his character Fenix Rise from the new Fast & Furious production to rock this weekend during all the festivities. As a base a pair of the Nike Sweet Classic’s were used. To start things off  Van hand painted images of Fenix Rise and the Phoenix bird on the upper of the sneakers. Feeling as if that wasnt quite enough Van went ahead and added the studded cuffs on the tongue and laces to give it a harder more roughed like appearance. The whole design was completed in one day due to the fact Laz needed them by this weekend for the MTV Movie Awards.
